Hi, I'm Misty, a 36 year old freelance model from Somerset. I've been modelling for two and half years, I have a partner and I'm a Mum of three.
Modelling was something I often thought about doing as I loved the thought of it and people would comment on how tall I was and say "You should model" but the time was never right...... until COVID hit and I got made redundant.
It was then that me and my partner would get out with his camera and I would practice posing while going on walks with my children. Once the restrictions were lifted I was then able to plan actual shoots and it went from there.
I absolutely love shooting lingerie as it gives the photos an edge and I like that but I also enjoy shooting fashion and location shoots. Although shooting on location in the winter is tough at times when it's absolutely freezing and trying not to show that in your shots.
Having an amazing location really does make the photos you produce so much better.
Yes, this was the first time I had worked with other models and a fantastic photographer (who again I had not worked with before) to say I was nervous was an understatement, however pre comms with Ed & Helen Akay and photographer Chris Woodman were spot on and on meeting the three of them, I quickly felt at ease.
Shoot day was an experience I'll never forget for a few reasons but the main reason would be how professional and enthusiastic this team were. I absolutely loved being a part of it and getting to be a bond girl alongside Helen was fantastic.
We were really lucky to have a great run of publications which meant we were featured in many magazines - one of them being where I achieved my first front cover which was an amazing confidence boost.
I have since worked with Ed and Helen on a number of shoots and hope to continue to work with the both of them again in the future.
Thank you - with three kids to run around after and animals to care for, they keep me on my toes.
I do also try to get my sit-ups done morning and night and try not to eat too much chocolate but that's not always possible especially with Christmas coming.
I would love to go on and model full time when the time is right and gain more front covers as well as carry on working with more amazing photographers and models.
